Maersk has announced the launch of a new Maersk Express service connecting Europe and North Africa, strengthening trade links across the central Mediterranean.

The service provides a direct connection between Radès, Tunisia, and Marina di Carrara, Italy, with a transit time of approximately 2 days and 7 hours, significantly reducing lead times compared to traditional feeder routes.

According to Maersk, the service is designed to support time-sensitive supply chains, particularly in industrial sectors such as automotive components, where speed and reliability are critical. The connection also includes onward RO-RO options via the Italian logistics network, enhancing inland distribution capabilities.

This new Express service reflects growing demand for faster, more predictable regional logistics solutions between North Africa and Europe, as manufacturers increasingly prioritize proximity and supply chain resilience.
